I believe that most FTP clients shows the files being transferred

Is that the one in windows?
thats not really that secure.
No its on a linux server, I only use the drop and drag ftp when I am working on an html page and working with many different images. But for everything else I use unlimited FTP.

filezilla, great piece of software.
open source software too.

Supports REST. No problems with transfers so far.
