Who have you all found reliable or not so reliable hosts. The first website I had was hosted by Lycos. It was a complete ripoff, £8 a month and the server was down half the time! It also only gave me 20GB bandwith and 2GB online space. I now use Bravenet. They are Great. You can get 60GB with 30GB storage all for $4.95 a month, it is also very reliable.

I still have to get my first real paid hosting.
Atm my site is hosted in my school. Great service, great features,... But I'll have to find a new host when I graduate next year.
My first free host was freepgs. Service and featrues are good, but they had some problems with their uptime.
But now they are payed (got to keep my free account) and their uptime is a lot better now.

Pandela is a good free host. You get databases and 100Mb of storage space plus 3GB Banwith. The thing is that if your database gets bigger than the size limit, it doesn't metter as there program to stop that happening doesn't work lol!

Hi, I use both site5 and dreamhost for webhosting.

I got dreamhost for US$10 for 1 year, there was a promotion. However the subsequent years, it's US$6.95 per mth. I think dreamhost suffers from overselling, and it shows. About every wk, both email and database will be down for half an hour.

Site5, no problems. Except support time can take up to 24 hrs!

I had Yahoo hosting for a while, they are the absolute worst host I have ever had. I do still use them as a registrar though because they are cheap and have a nice cp for changing the advance DNS settings.(when it works it's nice anyway)

I use Surpass Hosting, been about a month since I switched.

The great part is that it's a reseller account, $15 per month and I can have as many domains as I want. I have 5 right now but only one is complete the rest are in developement, the script writing takes so long.

There seem to have quite a lot of fans of polurnet.com, even in wht.

Perhaps I should also consider them as my host. But hopefully dreamhost will solve their overselling problem and I wont have to change.
