What do you guys think? Will it be better ? I am planning to do this because of the SEO advantage it gives.

Waiting for the final version before setting this up. Hope it will be problem free and what I am afraid is the user passwords. I think it wont be converted and users need to reactivate.

I still like SMF myself though.
but as long as all the threads are not lost it should be ok.

Well, I am afraid of duplicate content problem first. Once I switch, there will be two, one from the old smf and the other from the new XennoBB.

If its on the same domain google will make the switch fairly fast.

But darksat, my old domain had a lot of pages indexed and yet, after changing my site completely, they still have the old pages indexed.

Hmm, google seems to be slowing down. if you really want to you could use some form of redirect.
