Many of your forums say in the description "which you came across on the net." Does that mean that we are only aloowed to post about stuff that we came across or are we allowed to post about our own sites and services?

Not yours.  These are for sites which you discovered.
Use the showcase subforum if you would like to showcase your own site.

This is what I thought. I would suggest you more strictly enforce this then because I saw a lot of sites that were obviously from the thread creator.
