That looks like a nice technique that's cross-browser compatible. My site currently uses the CSS-based translucency which won't be fully supported untill CSS 3

Interesting link.
Would be very hard to do with complex images though.
Thats what i would really like to use something like that with.

Or perhaps not.
I will have to have a play with that.
